We lost a great friend, Tim Madden has passed away

Post by Tim Meyer So cal.. »

I am sorry to report that our great friend Tim Madden is no longer with us. Tim passed on suddenly yesterday, and the funeral arrangements are being planned as I type this post. Once I have the details I can be contacted regarding the time and place.

Tim is one of the finest people I have ever known in my life, and for all of us who knew him, I know they will all feel the same way.

Tim is a great father, grandfather, friend, employer, he was awarded the Small Business Man of the Year award by President Clinton, and he was the President of the Motorola Dealers Association.

We spent hundreds of hours fishing, talking about life, business and what we wanted to do with our futures. He will be missed everyday.

Tim, I will never forget what you meant to our family. I know heaven is better off today than it was yesterday, but we will miss you everyday.

Your friend,

Tim Meyer

Oh wow, how did this happen? He always seemed such a healthy and upbeat guy. We fished together several times in Pro-Ams and I always enjoyed seeing him at events. I will surely miss him and am sorry to hear this news. My condolences to his family and friends.

This was really a shock when Jim Lyon called me today. Tim was a great guy and always a pleasure to spend a little bit of time with when we were fortunate enough that our paths crossed.

Our prayers are with Tim's family as well. Thoughts and prayers for Jim Lyon he was very close to Tim.

Sorry to hear this.

My condolences to Tim's family and friends.

I had the pleasure of pre-fishing a Clear Lake Pro-Am with Tim in his Ranger a couple of years ago and had a extremely good time. had talked with him a few times since trying to get him up to Berryessa with me to pay him back the favor, just couldn't work it out. He will be missed!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim's family. I'll miss him. I met Tim several years ago and he was always a real upbeat guy who wasn't bashful about letting me know what the thought of this site and of bass fishing. He was always very helpful and a great guy to have as a dinner companion on the road.

Very sad news. Tim and I exchanged emails last week, looking forward to seeing each other again at a fun tourney in April. He graciously mentored me my first year as an Am during West Coast Bass. My prayers are with the entire Madden family.
