humminbird or lowrance ?

looking for a depth and fish finder w/down img and something i can put way points, any suggestions.......don't want to spend alot but have 800.00 allowance......just love to fish and trying to learn......

I just bought a Lowrance Elite 7 HDI combo unit and it comes with a transom mount transducer. You can get them at Hodges Marine for $620.00 delivered. This is the best price I found on this model. This unit has GPS (you can mark wey points), Down Scan Imaging and Broadband sonar.

Also, you will need to buy your Hot Maps chip and this unit only accepts the Hot Maps Premium version.
