don pedro
going to don pedro next month for a few weeks, did real good last year on senko's and drop shots with keeper worms, want to try crank baits and spinner baits...what do you guys have luck on ? had a hard time last year locating crappie (any hints ),be camping out of moscasin pt, i have more luck fishing moscasin then i do flemming medows, going to try los banos creek next week.....thanks ...
Re: don pedro
There is some awsome crappie fishing in the back of mocassin in the trees this time of year, throw a road runner on light line accross and through the trees, when you catch one repeat; you can normally hit some pretty good schools in there.
Should be a pretty good bass bite back there and in Woods creek just past the bridge coming out of Mocassin; flukes and blades through the trees should get you bit.

thanks George, when you say trees in moscasin that's where the water is comeing in......i never tried flukes at pedro, i use them at the san luis res and at the o'niel forebay and catch bass there.....
Re: don pedro
No, the water is coming in from the Tuolumne river which runs from the north/east, when you launch at the mocassin ramp go to the right and head to the back of the bay there are dozens of trees which are underwater water. There will be spawning fish as well as a bunch of crappie somewhere in that area.
You can than head north like you are going up river but instead stay to the left and go under the 120 bridge this will take you into Woods creek! You will have same situation with lots of submerged wood in the coves and cuts; reaction baits/Senkos/jigs work best! I have done well with Zoom flukes in pearl, Berzerk Baits jigs in brown and purple and Senkos in Green pumpkin in the trees.
Good luck!

George gave you pretty good info except one part about directions. He said to go under the 120 bridge to go up Woods Creek and that's incorrect. When you leave the Moccasin ramp head north. After you get through the 5 mph area turn left under the Jacksonville Rd. bridge. Then head north. You will parallel the 120 bridge and 120 up into Woods Creek. I'd advise you to go way up there past the 5 mph buoys. My luck has always been dropshot, hula grubs, and wacky senkos.
I'm petty familiar with that area. PM me and we can talk more.

You might try cotton candy zoom lizards and the calif. swimjig in trout color. you can throw it on a standard jig rod or a heavy spinnerbait rod, works like a swimbait and takes the place of a spinnerbait in some instances.
Good luck
