Moving to the big city and have no place to keep my boat. It's a 17 foot Monark Pro 17 aluminum bassboat with a 75 hp Force by Mercury. Only two owners in its life and I have owned it since 2002. It's a stellar boat for the price. Fishes bigger than a Tracker with 2 livewells, one on the front deck and one on the back. Fits a ton of tackle, about 20 Plano 3700s. The rodlocker has been modified to fit rods up to 8 feet. 80% of the boat was re carpeted 2 years ago with Cabelas highest end carpet, Ultimate Marine Carpet. The carpet looks fantastic with no holes or real spots of wear. During re carpeting the wood portion of the back deck was replaced entirely with 3/4 inch marine grade plywood. The bench seat was reupholstered in 2009.
The motors - This boat has a 75 hp Force by Mercury (2 stroke) and 75 hp is the maximum amount of rated horsepower for this boat. It has been a great motor with no problems during my ownership. I just had the boat checked out by Specialty Marine in Oxnard and had brand new starter installed. The boat was given a clean bill of health. Depending on the amount of people/gear this boat will do around 35 mph. The trolling motor is a Motorguide with 56 lbs of thrust and is on a 12/24 system. The boat was originally set up as a 12 volt system but I fished lakes with lots of wind and needed a more powerful motor that could last a full day on full power. I also upgraded the wiring to 6 gauge wire for less loss of battery power. (Originally the boat was set up with 10 gauge).
Issues - This boat is showing its age a bit and some of the decals are fading and the dash is discoloring a bit. The trailer has some spots of rust but it's only cosmetic and it could possibly use re carpeting. The boat also needs a new set of deep cycle batteries as they haven't been used in about 9 month and I believe they are dead. The livewell pump also needs replacement if you are planning on using the livewells, it's a cheap fix but I stopped tournament fishing and had no need for livewells. This is a great boat the way it is but if you wanted to put a little time and money in to it it could be stunning.
The price is $2500
The boat is located in Santa Barbara, CA
