Not a Bass fishing question.........

Post by Hardshell »

Greetings from the Caribbean.

Been boat less for almost 2 years now, really haven't missed it until just lately.

Haven't fished a tournament since the Badge Packer @ Don Pedro in October of '12.

Just about got our house here on St. Croix where we want it.

The Queen of the House says I can start throwing money away again, so.........

I ordered this to fish the reefs, drops and backwater around the Island and relieve my withdrawal.

I know some of the old WB guys have done or are doing this Kayak thing.

The question is: Are there any popular forums like WB for Yakers and wanna bees? Most of what I find in searching aren't very current or are not very helpful.

Thanks in Advance.

Check out kayakbassfishing.com, particulary the "Do it Yourself" section. Also, use the search function on that site for rigging ideas for your electronics and rod holders, storage, etc.

There are also alot of regional kayak fishing groups in Texas, Florida and the North West. I don't have the specific sites now, but am sure you can stumble across them by searching Texas kayak fishing for example. Good luck getting started.

HS After selling the the ole Ranger after our first born I missed being on the water. After about 4 years I started to go out and bank fish the delta and this got old real quick. So I purchased a yak and after getting into the yak fishing I found the group NCKA - Nor-Cal Kayak Anglers (http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/). They are a good bunch of people and really helpful. Hope you and the family are doing good. Eileen and the kids are doing well and I try to get out at least a couple of times a month on the delta with my yak.

Here is a link to my yak. http://wavewalk.com/blog/2012/04/12/my- ... alifornia/

Take care! and good fishing.

George,

How nice to hear from you.

Tell Eileen hello from the old guy in the Caribbean.

I'll never forget that day you and I fished on McClure and those days Elieen and I pre-fished for pro-ams.

Cheers

Not kayak related...

Post by davet. »

wait, wait, wait! I'm missing the middle part. House on St Croix? Holy crap that's awesome. Just wondering, how did you manage that? Are you retired? Do you run a business there (dive shop, etc.)?
What's the secret? if it's smart money management, I'm screwed.

Good morning,

You didn't miss anything.

Yes we do now live on St. Croix full time.

After 50 plus years of working our asses off in the "People's Republic of California" we have retired from that rat race.

There's no secret, work, save and be smart.

Cheers

Hi Steve
If that kayak comes with that fish you better grab it! LOL You'll have a blast with that boat and get into some really neat spots. Enjoy your retirement!
