ABA Lake Mead South Team Classic Update...

The federal government shutdown has resulted in the closure of Lake Mead. We are in a holding mode to see if a budget extension agreement is met. If the House and Senate sign a bill, our understanding is that the lake will reopen the next day. We are going to wait to make a postponement decision until 5:00PM Wednesday October 2nd.

If a bill is not signed by 5:00PM Wednesday October 2nd, the 2013 South Team Classic will be postponed. We will not know what dates are available until our federal government is fully functioning and our contacts are back at work. We cannot speculate how long this issue may take to resolve.

We apologize for any inconvenience this hold/potential rescheduling may cause. We are very disappointed that we are not on the road heading to Lake Mead. We are still hopeful that a bill will be signed today so that we can conduct the event as planned.

Maybe we can give it another day if nothing is done by tomorrow and just make it a Saturday and Sunday event...or a winner take all one day??

Theres a chance the shut down ends today... At 530pm est the President, Members of congress and members of senate will meet at the white house... Keep your fingers crossed!!

Not in favor of Saturday and Sunday. Some of us are leaving Mead heading to Clear Lake for the FLW. I would rather reschedule if things don't pan out. It's a tough decision all the way around.

I just got word that the tournament is CANCELLED!!! DANNNNGGGGGG IT!!!! They needed to at least wait until after the meeting between the Presidnt and both side scheduled for 530pm est today (230 our time)....SHOOOOT...It could be resolved today...Am I the only one up to date on this stuff??? Theres a chance it ends today...
