If you could do it over!!!!
If you could do it over!!!!
If you had one time in your fishing life that you could do something over and change that event for the better or worse what would it be?
Lets say losing a monster fish in a tournament or even fun fishing, buying a different boat, not taking on a sponsor or what ever it may be, you get one do over!!!

My only regrets are not going out more often with friends and being too focused on tournaments. Also not being able to figure out how to get them to go on the delta once they pull of off brim beds....any pointers?

One lost 2 lb fish that cost me a boat in a TOC. I think I regretted that at one point but now that fishing is back to "fun" for me its just a mishap that happened.
Fishing should be fun.
Re: If you could do it over!!!!
Fishing Robert Mansor's Friday Night Poor Man's event I caught a 14" spot in the first 5 minutes and threw it back saying "We dont want to weigh a fish like this!!" I caught a 10.26 for big fish, and we lost probably a dozen fish that night from 1.5 to 5 lbs. We took 2nd to the Pierson by less than a pound.
Re: If you could do it over!!!!
That is an easy one....it was the Bassmaster Western Open at Clear Lake, the one that Bob Higgins won the co angler side with me on the final day. I started the tournament on day one in 130th or some sorry spot, day 2 fished the same area but figured out how to catch them and moved to 30th and on the final day Bob won from 24th place and I finished 12th..........That one felt like the Bassmaster event I found the fish to win and just missed them the first day and only weighed 3 fish.......I wish I could do day one over!!!!

Good one Bailey
I could go on and on for a couple of pages on this subject. Maybe I'll write a book and title it "Just One More Fish".......
One that first comes to mind is a smallmouth at Lake Mead in the National Guard Series. It jumped eye level with me right at the boat and shook the bait. My co-angler just had to stick the net out and he would've netted it easily. Not his fault but instead he just stood there and said to me, "That ones going to haunt you"! I finished 11th in points that season and missed making the Forrest Wood Cup by 1 spot. That fish cost me the spot.
There's plenty more tails like these that I don't care to re-live right now. Haha.

Re: If you could do it over!!!!
Any client that has lost one over 10 lbs is a bitter disappointment, but the one that hurt the most was at Amador - about 20 yrs ago. A regular client stuck one in the 13 to 16 lb range (my guess in the 15 lb range). She jumped twice - no problem - handling her well, drag fine,.........she just came off after 3 or so minutes. She looked like the creature from the "Blue Lagoon" in the black light! It took me a few days to get over that one and I'm not sure about him!! We did get redemption the next year as he landed a 12 lb 2 oz toad at Clear Lake on another night trip. He released her - AFTER he landed her!!!!!! I told him he was finally learning the right timing for "catch and release!!"
