I want to use fluorocarbon line for cranking. What line is the softest & easiest casting on the market?
Thanks,

Re: fluorocarbon line
You should really give Blackwater Fishings 'Toray' line a try its amazing. Extremely strong and abrasion resistant, in my opinion it's the best Fluoro on the market hands down. Here is their site if you wanna give em a try http://www.blackwaterinternationalinc.com/index.html, Tackle Warehouse also carries it as well.

Re: fluorocarbon line
I really stand by P-Line's Fluorocarbon. I don't think it gets all the hype that some of the other brands have had but I've had no issues with knot strength or breakage. I tie lures on with the Double San Diego Jam knot see this link http://youtu.be/KRJNZGPIscE. Pay attention to the doubled line that's around the ring and make sure it is NOT crossed after it's cinched. Same goes with the palomar knot. It will cut itself under load especially with fluorocarbon. Also to save some $$ and coil effect when the spool gets low from retieing, fill half of the spool with braid or some inexpensive line of similar or slightly larger diameter. With regular line backing join the two with the uni to uni knot. With braid backing join the two lines with the modified albright knot. Any fluorocarbon becomes a headache (coils) when the spool gets low. This will help with that as well as not wasting the last few yards of expensive fluorocarbon. Good luck!

McCoy made in the USA, flouro, braid, coploy..you can use a backing if you want but fishing line is one of the cheapest things I buy so I don't bother. ex..3 bags of senkos over 21 dollars and that doesn't count the hard baits..

Hey Don,
There's a new line out by Berkley call Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL. The "XL" stands for extra limp.
I've been using this line for a few months now and I haven't had any problems with it. With this line I don't have to use any line conditioner like you have to sometimes with fluorocarbon lines.

Check out my post on casting tips from earlier this week. I have been using Suffix FCC, but after buying that Sunline its going to be hard to change back. Another big point is watch line diameter by test.

According to Tackle Underground's fluorocarbon comparisons, BPS fluoro is the best bang for your buck.

I agree with Ash on watching line diameter by test. Not all lines are created equal.
Its also worth trying a couple brands out if your new to floro so you can see for yourself. I have personally tried, Berkley, P-line, Maxima, and Seaguar.
I have found Seaguar to be the best all around for me. I also use the RED label variety usually which for the price is unbeatable in my opinion.
