Elshere's Conquer Titan WON BASS W/Video Casitas 3/1

Post by Rich Tauber »

With little hesitation 26 teams would not be derailed by a small storm called Titan. Once again the WON BASS "Casitas Region" teams showed up in big numbers bringing the total to 81 teams that have fished the first three tournaments of the season. Last year's Tournament of Champions winners Larry Elshere and his son Eric Elshere went to work straight junk fishing in less than 10 feet of water with a variety of techniques ranging from an Alabama rig to a drop shot and put together a 23.67 pound bag of bass and easily captured the title at Casitas 3/1/2014. With the victory Eric and Larry calmly collected $2640 in cash for their days work in the wet conditions at Lake Casitas. In second place were brothers Ron and Chris Hagan as they put together a 21.33 pound bag of bass and gathered $1160 in cash. In third place was Hawaii's greatest bass angler Elliot Chang and fan favorite Greg Gallaway as they put together a steady bag of bass weighing 20.02 pounds and collected $880 in cash. In fourth place were western stars Mike Arujo and his partner Stan Vanderberg as they put together a five bass limit that weighing 19.75 pounds and collected $380 in cash. Rounding out the money list where the current leaders in the angler of the year race Matt Newman and Brian Evans as they slid a five bass limit weighing 18.92 pounds on the scales and collected $180 in cash for their efforts. The next tournament on the WON BASS "Casitas Region" tour is March 15, 2014. With over 30 teams expected for the March 15 tournament anglers can contact tournament director Rich Tauber at 818-439-1154 to get more details.
