Hey All,
So I recently purchased a motorhome, and I'm towing my boat throughout the country spending time at as many of the best fisheries as possible. Here's my question: What campgrounds do you know of that either come with an electrified overnight slip or are within a few hundred yards of an electrified slip? In CA, I've got the delta covered and I'm familiar with Konocti Casino on Clearlake. Are there any others in CA that you know of? How about out of state? Anywhere nationwide is good as long as the bass fishing is great!
Pulling with boat out every night is not practical with the motorhome.
Thanks.

I've been down the road of various campground guides and found them to be inadequate when it comes to identifying campgrounds with electrified docks. Even many campground's own web sites don't offer that information. It makes for a long process of research and phone calls.

If yer going throughout the country, add Lake Fork in East Texas to your list. Huge lake, several ramps with the facilities you need at several locations on the lake - gas, food, lodging, hook ups, etc... all right on the water (there are several good maps available listing these places). All these facilities cater to fishermen exclusively. So much standing timber, it can be intimidating - nothing like it in California anywhere (imagine all the timber at the mouth of the Pit covering all of a completely full Shasta, and Fork would still have more standing trees). Really, really good fishing too. Everyone should get to spend a few days at Fork at some point in theirs lives.

Sounds like a good place to hole a boat. With so many famous, facility heavy bass lakes in East Texas, what makes Fork stand out to you?CG wrote:If yer going throughout the country, add Lake Fork in East Texas to your list. Plain and simple - BIG FISH. All that timber can be tuff on yer boat though, so be EXTREMELY careful.
There may be other famous / good lakes in East Texas, but if I'm in the neighborhood, Fork is the one and only stop. Honestly, I've fished Ray Roberts, Montecello & Welsch (power generation lakes only good in winter / early, early spring), Texoma, Tawakoni, and one other right next to Monticello that I can't remember the name of. never made it to Toledo Bend or Rayburn. Fork has all the amenities (nothing fancy, but awesome for a fishing trip), and more good water than you could fish in a week. If yer in Norcal, you have to fish the Delta and Clear Lake. If yer in East Texas, Fork is a must - trust me on that!!!
P.S. I run a Stratos myself!!
