How Many Rods are enough??

Post by aNNieNsaLTIE »

So I been over looking my tackle in my cave. Looking at pictures I have taken a few years back and compared it currently to what I have now. How much is to much?

So related to my topic question, What is enough? I fish the delta, clear lake, berryessa and do a occasional trip to shasta. How many rods do I REALLY NEED?

what is the inventory in your boat? I hear simplicity and organization contributes to being successful and productive.

I do not fish tournaments. I do not fish against the clock. I just like to enjoy myself. For some reason I have 3 punch rods, 4 rods that can be used as frog, small swimbaits or buzzbait rods, 6 rods that can be used for jigs, pitching, blades and single buzzbait. I can go on and ooonnnnnN!!!!

I wrote out my inventory and not just staring stupid on what do I need. My problem is I keep getting distracted with what I want/can't let go.

I need help guys!

When you're fishing alone and in the wind, it's tough to rerig to try another bait or technique.
I usually have 12 rods on the deck, and the same number in my rod locker.
I fish for fun, and that helps me enjoy my fishing time more.

I don't fish the Delta, so that eliminates a few rods. I try to fish at least 2 times a week. If I have a pattern that holds, I will sometimes only have two rods in the boat.

i keep 6 to 7 rods in the boat, and never have more than 4 on the deck. if you can not catch them on 4 rods, you definitely need to go back the the drawing board and regroup.

clutter on the deck is a distraction, and makes it difficult to not step on rods. a lot of bassers over complicate catching bass. the hardest part of catching them is locating them. the same bass can be caught a number of different ways.

of course those that are selling rods and reels love those that keep 20 or 30 in the boat at all times!!!
