Going to be in the market for a boat soon and I'm a complete OCD case when it comes to purchases of that size. With that in mind I'd like to be as experienced as possible before making a decision. Been fishing for a long time but always been in the passenger seat. That makes me pretty unaware of what I'm looking for and what is preferable when boat shopping. Not really a position I want to be in when talking to a dealership or negotiating prices with previous owners.
I haven't ridden in many boat brands just a few Nitros and a Skeeter. With my price range in the high teens low 20's I don't think I want a Nitro, they seemed pretty cramped and cheap to me in the affordable years. But the ones I've been in are older and smaller so I don't want to be biased without giving it a fair chance. Really liked the Skeeter but it was almost a decade newer than the Nitros I've been in so it's not quite fair to compare. I've made my mind up that I don't want anything under 19', maybe that's too much boat to start with but I know I want to be comfortable on it and don't want to have to purchase another one within a year because I have grown out of it so to speak.
With that being said looking for anyone that's hitting a tournament or even pre-fishing or fun fishing with an open back seat, I'll happily split costs for entry/gas or gas/food on fun fishing. Just looking to get water experience and ask a bunch of questions about equipment and pecking orders etc. Any advice, opinions, or suggestions are welcomed on here as well. I want to hear even the most biased of opinions.
Open back seat?

Oh yeah, that might help huh? Sorry about that, I live in Fairfield, so I'm available for any Delta/Wine Country or northern region waters.
