Folsom Lake?

Post by bryanw80 »

heading out to Folsom on Wed and was hoping for a few tips. Haven't been out there since May and not sure what's working with the water levels and declining temps? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

5 mph speed limit on the lake. Watch out for boulders

As fishwithron2 said entire lake is 5mph, Granite Bay still has a good paved ramp just seems like you're driving off the edge of the earth to get there. If you have gps with contours just stay in the river channel and you're safe. If you head around the penninsula stay wide and you're safe.

There are a lot of small fish if you're just wanting to get bit it will be fun. If you have decent electronics you can catch them off the graph pretty good right now. Dropshot with a smaller 3"-4" bait 1/4-3/8 oz weight and a leader around 2'. Fish are anywhere from the bank out to 35 or so feet. Best concentrations I found were 18-24 feet and 27-32 feet, hope you have fun if you go.

Thanks for the help. Do you think the main body is the best bet or up the north or south arm? I usually stay up the north arm.

I know it's late but maybe you will check this before you go out. The main has a lot of fish, I didn't fish up the north but they're always biting.
