getting interference from motorguide trolling motor when running motor

Any electric motor puts of "sound" when the motor is engaged. This "sound" is picked up by the receiver in the transducer and this is why you see the vertical black line on your screen. You can try to have your trolling motor dealer run a ground wire from the ground wire in the directional light on the top of the motor to the electric motor to see if this could quiet down some of that sound the receiver is getting. Other than that, I just ignore the vertical lines knowing they are nothing I need to be concerned with.
