I'm sure it wasnt intentional and it happens when you catch fish, sometimes the fish will be released but shortly after die. it's hard for me to believe a tournament angler would release that many fish let alone a 10 lb fish dead on the bank. Instead of beign a smart a@@ maybe make a suggestion to the TD that if fish are dead have the angler fillet it and give it to someone or take it home for his/her dinner. I've fished a lot of tourneys and I have not seen a tourney angler throw a 10 lb fish right on the bank, therefore I'm sure the fish died shortly after.

BIg fish was it caught on swim bait? Just curious. As for the dead fish, yeah I've seen fish die shortly after and it is up to the angler to make sure his catch is well enough to swim. However if a fish is to die there are severely species of animals that will gladly dispose of the carcass. I understand and am all for conservation but that's my thought.

Not sure why you would attack the TD? If you're going to go after anyone....go after the anglers! It's their responsibility to keep those fish alive and not release a dead one. Like others have said already....some of these fish are released and die off later. What can you do about that? There are always going to be dead fish during a tourney. It's just the nature of the beast. Not a one of them were killed intentionally.

JUST SO YOU KNOW, BIG FISH ARE OLD, THATS HOW THEY GET BIG...STRESS/DEATH IS MORE COMMON IN A BIGGER OLDER BASS...THE ANGLERS RELEASE THEIR FISH AFTER WEIGHING THEM IN..WHEN I AM DONE, AS TD, I GO DOWN TO WATER JUST TO CHECK, AND DIDNT SEE A 10 LBER DEAD..I DIS SEE A FEW OTHER FLOATERS, AND THERE WAS ALSO A CLUB EVENT THAT COULD HAVE LOST FISH ALSO.NO NEED TO COME ON HERE AND ATTACK ME..ACTUALLY, I DO ONE OF THE "FASTEST, FISH FRIENDLY DRIVE-BY WEIGH INS YOU WILL SEE..MY DEAD FISH COUNT IS VERY LOW...I HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN WATCHING OTHER WEIGH-INS HERE, AND HAD TO SHOW A COUPLE TD'S HOW TO NEEDLE FISH..SO DONT TELL ME ABOUT PROPER FSH CARE"!!..ITS GONNA HAPPEN..ALSO,JUST SO YOU KNOW, AS A DIRECTOR,(PER DFG ), YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO RETURN "ALL" FISH,(DEAD OR ALIVE), BACK TO ITS ENVIRONMENT(WATER)...DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY OR "TAKE THEM HOME"..DFG SAYS NATURE WILL TAKE ITS COURSE.....

Well this is how it happened... I AM THE TD FOR THE OTHER CLUB THAT WAS THERE... I AM SURE YOU SAW THE DFG SITTING IN THE LOT WATCHING EVERYONE THUS THE REASON YOU ALL RAN OUT OF THERE SO FAST. I PERSONALLY WEIGHED IN ALL OUR FISH AND RELEASED THE IN FRONT OF THE DFG SITTING ON THE DOCK.. AND HE WITNESSED ALL OF OUR FISH SWIM OUT OF THERE.. HE ALSO EXPRESSED MUCH CONCERN FOR THE REST OF THE FISH AND DID NOT MENTION "NATURE TAKING ITS COURSE". HE DID ASK AS FOR MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE CONCERNING THE OTHER ORG. AND SAID IF THIS IS WHAT HAPPENES EVERY WEEK THEN WHAT WILL BE LEFT AFTER A FEW YEARS. SO YES A WILL BE THE ***/ GEEK TO CALL YOU OUT WHEN YOUR ARE TREATING THE FISHERIES THIS WAY. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT. I HAVE THE DFG OFFICERS INFO YOU CAN FEEL FREE TO CONTACT HIM BUT IM PRETTY SURE HE WILL BE AT YOUR NEXT EVENT.

I wish they would ban all tournaments on Pedro.

Let's be real, tourneys are always going to go on at Pedro and at almost every tourney there's gonna be some fish lost. I think instead of anglers who all love this sport should find a solution and not accuse each other of some things we can't control. When it all comes down to it we all love the excitement of catching a hog and Pedro is loaded with them so with that said tourneys will always happen on Pedro. I think maybe if somehow there can be a good size floating dock inside the 5mph zone that boaters can pull up weigh the fish right there and put them in the water as soon as their weighed in instead of driving them up to the scales then driving them back down. Idk if that will fix the problem but I'm sure there might be less fish lost. I enjoy the sport and without a healthy fishery we won't be able to have these tourneys. So instead of going back and fourth let's put our heads together and come up with a solution. I guarantee there isn't a TD that doesn't want the fish released alive, let's all work together on this fellas.

One last thing, sorry fellas. At these weigh ins if possible have DFG there and if there's a dead fish they can collect them and have some anglers volunteer to fillet them and have the meat donated to a organization? If something like that can happen then I think we won't have these problems.

B Worm, can I ask why you didn't call Robert about the dead fish instead of coming on the forum and blasting the Poe mans TD? What happened to a little common courtesy? Hope this never happens to you. I know Robert does all he can to prevent these kind of things from occurring however fish do die.
