Palo Verde bass fishing

Post by Mark Talmo »

Fishing still fun at the lagoon, 3 days, 23 bass to 3 lb. ,small fish but flipping paradise, and 15 miles of canals and not a person on the water. Fishing out of my 1978 skeeter tri hull, perfect skinny water boat

Where do you launch from? Private access or public ramp.

It's by Colorado river south of Blythe, the launch ramps are dirt, and a steep concrete one that drops off. Imperial valley doesn't keep them up, I do.ha,ha. I keep my little skeeter on a dock of a friends across street from our house,. Also main river fishing is super fun for smallies to 4 lb. And largemouth. Not many people use this section of river even in summer. Can fish all the way to Martinez lake. I got sick of southern California quagga inspections, lake fees,no night fishing. I'd say so cal crowds also a factor, but nobody fishes anymore, not like 80's in so cal. Take a kid bass fishing.

Miss fishing that area. River can be sketchy with low water and shifting sandbars... ding'd a few props too. Been a few years since i have fished that area but usually launch out of the Cibola bridge area and of course the McIntire RV resort area. Small river fishing at its finest.
