I'm going to devote one day to throwing the 12" Suicide Glide. What retrieve style would be best for this time of year? Also, what lake would give me the best chance of getting bit. I plan on fishing in the Motherlode area.

I think Don Pedro is your best shot. I haven't thrown a swimbait much over the last couple months, but that lake is a great place to do it. Fish it uphill on main lake points. I usually put my boat right up next to the bank and fan cast out over the point. Fishing it parallel right up against a steep wall can be great too. Good luck.
