Minn Kota Fortrexx or Motor Guide Tour Digital?
Re: Minn Kota Fortrexx or Motor Guide Tour Digital?
Hate to offer this, but what are you used to? I just went from lifelong MotorGuide to Fortrex. No doubt the Minnie seems a little more stable on the deck. And, for a fellow of a mature age, can't beat the easy lift qualities of the new TM. But I still haven't got used to the button position on the foot pedal, (it's on the wrong side ) and when pinched in tight quarters, I barely get 350 degrees of turn to back out, forcing me at times to turn the head back all the way around to escape.

They are of equal quality and dependable. As mentioned if you have been used to the motorguide switch it will take awhile to adapt the Minn Kota. We sell both at the Hook and are service and warranty center for both.
Pick the one that you are comfortable with.

I have owned the 80 thrust motor guide digital and I now have a minnkota 101 thrust fortex on a different boat. This is just my opinion but the minnkota is better in every aspect other than the foot petal flexes more the the motorguide and the thrust foot button is on the wrong side . The mount along with rising and dropping the motor is far superior to motorguide. I also believe that the shaft on the motorguide does not measure up to minnkota. Also, I broke 3 foot stealing cables on the motorguide. Basically, in my opinion, the foot pedal on the motorguide is better and that is it.
Also as said before, they both have good customer service.
