I trailered the boat down to the south (picture above fishing 'the island') but made the mistake of not going north from there to deeper water. Found it to be way too shallow anywhere straight out across from the ramp, or at the island further south. That area did real well when the water was a bit higher years ago. Did well at the Delta a few days prior too, before getting back down here to San Diego.

The last day there (Sunday) got 15 on the Gunfish at the opening of the marina before breakfast- fun times.
EDIT/PS
Oh, met a nice young man, up and coming in the professional tournament scene, who also guides Clear Lake. I really took a liking to him
as he gave me his number in case I ran into problems on the lake in my aluminum boat, as winds were to be high the next day- and I found that
to be VERY COOL. Plus he mentioned he has a heart for vets and gives many of them, in certain cases, free guide trips, ALSO VERY COOL. He's offered to take me
out next time I'm up in trade for my art, and that's TRIPLE COOL. His name is Chris Franks, I looked up his website: http://chrisfranksfishing.com/
