Its been hot again this week. Water is starting to clear and cooler mornings last week dropped the water temps a little. Last Wednesday the water temp was 73 in the morning and very windy. We caught some fish on jigs and a 6 pounder on a punch rig.I just talked to an angler that fished the rattlesnake arm this morning, he caught fish on jigs, and lv 500s and a few on topwater. Bobs marine tournament is this weekend and is open to any brand boat now .Also Shasta and Clearlake club tournaments this weekend .I have seen some threadfin up shallow this week. Overall the bite remains good and upcoming FLW 24th-26th should have a good tournament.
This is the time of year to fish the LV 500, but the jig bite is still the best bet.Throw your favorite topwater bait and don't just fish it in the mornings . I have seen the spook bite turn on around noon this time of year. Sept 15th marks the end of 6 hr events this year.

To all boaters this weekend . Be aware there is also a kayak tournament on Sunday. Give the guys room as if it was another boat and be careful in the early morning when running.

Thanks Dave! The square-bill bite is starting to kick off as well. I had a couple Giants clobber my kvd 1.5 in 2 feet of water this week!
