After searching for a week, I got the best price at a place in stockton and sac called battery bills. There price was better than any internet site for the battery I chose. And if I have a problem I can take it back to the store I bought from. my battery search turned in to more of a headache than planned. Good luck

I didn't want a wet cell battery anymore. To much maintenance. I think I am getting old. I wanted a AGM battery. My first choice was the oddyssy but even with Scott sweets help they were going to be around $1100 for 3 31s. I ended up going with the DEKA 8A31dtm. There $215 a piece. My partner has had them in his boat for 4 yrs

The pure lead AGM Exides are made by Northstar same as the Diehard PM's. The reg. AGM's are only offered in a group 24 deep cycle. Only a few actual manufacturers. $215 is a good price for the Deka AGM (East Penn), Orielly's sells it for $229. Although Orielly's does run sales occasionally.

I know, I'm trying to make my mind up on sealed or wet cell. I think for the most part, the price is the same in the long run. anyone used the newer Excide agm batteries?

For a trolling motor battery the big Walmart everstart deep cycle batter does the trick(group 29 i think) and is pretty reasonable $$$$. Spend the money on a high end cranking battery and go cheap on the trolling motor batteries........just my opinion and what works for me. Don't use anything but the largest batteries for your trolling motor. I use the sears PM1 for cranking/electronics, everstarts for the troller. Adding water the batteries is not necessary most of the time when i check them.....maybe once or twice a year. Not a big deal to me.

Just got 3 new 31's at Clearlake outdoors for around $700 OTD and they pull the 20' triton around all day no problem and I finally feel like I could go 2 days if I had to. They are maintenance free centtenials.

With all the load on the cranking battery nowadays from livewells, bilge pumps, and electronics, I use the same deep cycle battery for my cranking battery as for my TM.

+10 on the Centennial DC31MF ESPECIALLY for starting battery for a 225 outboard. This has huge cranking AMPS, is Deep Cycle for your electronics, livewells etc. Have gone multiple days rarely starting the big motor while running all accessories and it's never left me stranded

Do you guys know where to buy the centennials? Can they be ordered on the net or in store only. I live in Turlock, so the closer the better. Also, what is the price for 31's on average?

If you have an East Penn Industries warehouse they usually sell their AGM 31 blems. I bought another one here in Phoenix for $103 OTD with core exchange.

I'm sure you've checked this by now but supposedly there's a location for the centennals right in West Sacto. I'm around there all the time, you can PM me if you'd like and we could meet up some where as I run down to the delta area quite a bit which is obviously half way. I would warn that the batteries in 31s are 13.? long so I had t trim my battery trays. It hasn't been a problem but some people dont like that sort of thing, just FYI. I'll run by today and make sure the location actually exists.

Looks like East Penn Mfg is in Ontario and Sacto. The one here always has a pallet of AGM blems for a hundred bucks with a core exchange. They are very heavy like all AGMs at around 80 pounds each and they do take a lot of room.

If the are blemished. What does that exactly mean? Is it just cosmetic blemishes or does it affect performance?

+1 on Centennial batteries at Battery Systems in West Sac. I've outfitted several boats over the last few years and their deep cycle fully sealed batteries were always the best on both price and features.

The blems have only the threaded posts and no lead posts. They also have no lifting straps so that is a pain.
