In my experience, they are all good products. I would first decide what feature are most important to you. Each company has different things they are best at, for example, the sonar is better on hummingbird than lowrance, but the GPS and mapping is way faster on lowrance. The garmin is cool, it shows which way the fish is moving on sonar, 360 imaging is awesome, but only available on hummingbird. I would look at what matters most to YOU, and then watch for sales.

I have personally never used the ray marines.... My partner never uses sonar, he prefers to have the side scan, and downscan on, but I always have at least one screen on for sonar. It's really up to you to decide what features are the most import to you. With all that said, I have the best hummingbirds on my rig, and am super happy. 360 is expensive, but I've heard it's amazing! I wish the mapping was faster, but I think I can add a puck, and fix that. I have been looking at the garmin, and may end up going to them on the next boat. Their sonar is unbelievable, it gives you streaks in 3d that move with the fish, so you can tell which way the fish just swam, or if there running away from the bait, or approaching it, in real time! If I was buying right now, this feature really wins for me.

Be sure to look at lots of images from all before you decide. There are websites that post user images not simulations. Find out what is best for your eyes. Then study the menu format. If it isn't logical to you then you will have a hard time understanding and finding things.

When I was looking for my first High Res Units a 4 or 5 years ago. I just couldn't visualize one brands imaging but another brand was much easier for me. I could truly see and interpret what I was viewing. But I preferred the first brands menu system and could move around much easier. The decision finally came down to if I couldn't see it I didn't need it. So I sucked it up and got the brand that was easier for me to see. I spent the extra time learning the menus and I do pretty well today. Guess you can teach this old dog new tricks.

Good Luck.
