Anybody know how the water clarity is ..............

Post by Pete Marino »

at Casitas right now. And how is the bite?? Are the fish still on beds? Also hows the swimbait bite?? I'm thinking about going there ...not for a tournament. Is there a tournament there this weekend?? If so what org.??

Also how about the water clarity at Perris?? I havent been there for a month so I was wondering how the water clarity is there as well. I've only been going to Puddingstone and DV in the last 2 weeks.

Thank you in advance.......

The swimbait bite is on again/off again, but well worth the effort.

Last weekend at the NBW tournament not very many bed fish. Mark and I only had one bed fish and it was a 3lb fish (Should of had 20lbs). We caught our fish on 7" light oxblood red flake robo worms. I had some good fish miss my chartruse and white fluke in the morning. Friday for prefish it was raining and mark had alot of followers on the triple trout and he caught one over 6. Saturday with no rain not as many followers. The fish where on the tule points in long valley. I lost a fish over 8 lbs on friday on a worm.

Pete, I did Perris about a week and a half ago. The water looked like tea pumped from a bilge. Nasty. Best I could see was about two feet at the Dam with dead flat water and sun. Horrible conditions. I hadn't been there in a while so I don't know how long it has been that way. It was so dingy I don't think stoning it would make it really clear for a long time.

Pete,
I've been at casitas all week. The water temp is 69 in the afternoon. Yes fish are still on beds, my clients had a few 8's and 9's on beds. The worm bite is really good right now, drop shot 6" oxblood robos in the brush and on tule edges, on Monday we had 2 8's and a 10 on dropshot with clients and several other 2 to 4 pounders. swimbait bite is pretty much gone with no more storms and being sunny and hot now. Today I made shad for the first time this year, it came up thick today, fish were kind of on it but only in the areas i made bait. Caught fish this afternoon on flukes pretty good. ok thats about it have fun pete ! oh ya no tournaments at casitas this weekend.

Shawn is right on. Water was very clear last weekend and the brothers dominated. Hats off to them. You can find beds but the ones my son and I found were very skittish. We found Senkos to be very productive. Check out our picture on NWB site for results last weekend. Never mind the fat one kneeling but that is my son and me with our four pounder. He makes a daddy proud.
