wheel skates an/or wheel dollies

Have any of you fellow fisherman ever used wheel skates or also known as wheel dollies on their boat trailers in the garage for ease of movement? If so what brand? Did you use one on each wheel? Were you able to move the boat with ease? ETC.. Any info would be great. I have a 21 ft. boat with a tandem axle boat that barely fits in my garage and I'm considering these to make life easier but I'm not sure if it will.. Hopefully some of you can shed the light for me.. Thanks in advance.

Go-Jacks are da bomb. Lots of choices out there but these are the best. Use them on your forward set of tires on the dual axel trailer and makes moving the boat as if were a single axle. One trick for maneuvering the boat in the garage is to lower the front winch as far down as possible. This will help with turning the boat around.

I have Go Carts by Ranger Products in Santa Paula. They are hydraulic, not mechanical like the more expensive brand. You just put them on the front tires of your tandem trailer wheels. What is left is two tires down, slightly assisted, by the dolly wheels. As long as there is rubber on the ground, it will require some muscle, but this old guy is doing ok with his Z8. Inertia is inertia.

Just use a set on my buddies new boat last night.. Worked like a dream. $69 at Harbor Freight... Might be better choices out there...bottom line is the work and make it so much easier..

Go - jacks for sure. A little more expensive but they'll last you a really long time. I've had mine six years and they still work like they're brand new. Good decision to get them. Makes life much easier...

Glad you are getting good usage out of the Trailer Valet. I purchase one over a year ago and after the 1st week it was rusting and had excessive rattling. Sent it back.

Just put a couple of large plastic trash bags under the wheels. Kent Brown had a short video on his Facebook page about this

I looked at all of them. I bought the harbor Freight for $69 each on sale. They used to have a cast iron wheel but the newer ones have poly casters and work perfectly. no need to spend $500 on GoJacks when the HF ones work just as good. I can push the trailer around easily.

For the last 20 years I have used a set of four thin plastic cutting boards. Thin so it is easy to roll onto.
I just push the boat trailer onto the boards and then swing the tounge 2 feet or so and its in the third car garage section, fast and simple. The cost was about a dollar each back when I bought them. Used every week for 20 years and the wife won't swipe 'em because they are on the garage floor.
