Favorite Flourocarbon

Post by Chad Sweitzer »

I am sure this topic has been covered plenty on here. But I know new lines have been released and since Red Label is now ruined I am curious as to what everyone's fishing for their heavy duty (15-20lb) flouro. Price matters. . . But I'm fishing some pretty nasty structure (Boulders, Standing Timber) so it needs to be tough.
Thanks for any suggestions

I use P-line fluro and its awesome seriously haven't broke a fish off on it yet. I used 20lb all winter for a-rigs and swimsuits (swimsuits LOL)and caught a few good fish just under ten and multiple good fish. During the FLW at Clear lake, the 8lb test fluro helped me land a 5lber, 30min before weigh in on a drop shot. so thats my experience.

'v used P-line and BPS Fluorocarbon. Settled on Seaguar Invisix. I fish around quagga and Zebra mussels. Invisix seems to handle best for me. Breaking off is not a big issue for me. I retie after a big fish and check for line abrasions often. Seems like every time I neglect that though I break off a big one... :o

Seaguar abraz x is way better for abrasion resistance. And the price isn't that bad. If price is no option seaguar tatsu is the best floro made, hands down. Well worth the money if you tournament fish and can afford it.

Mr. Poulson,
In my experience with flourocarbon, the levelwind technology makes a huge difference. Red Label used to be my favorite line (I threw nothing but Red Label for 3 years). With this first spool of loosely spooled Red Label, which I assume is the same formula, it broke mid spool on my first trip out with it, I now have to cut it all out and respool, AFTER 1 DAY!
