Re: CLear Lake with Six Over Ten | Top-3 Reports
"WOW", appears to be the chosen word once again with yet another record breaking numbers event for WWBT @ Clear Lake this past Saturday!! A huge congrats to Jordan and McCosker with their big bass @11.80 and an astounding 41.52 for their 7 bass LM limit, just shy of a 6# average! As pointed out, six LM came to the scales @ over 10#s!! Breaking down this big bass numbers a little finer really puts these weights into a WOW perspective; indeed! As their were 3@11#s +, 3@10#s+ , 2@9#s+, 4@8#s+, one @ 7#s +, and four big CL/LM over 6+ lbs. taking a ride to the scales to be weighed in. More focus on the numbers and weights at hand were the Top 50 weight was 22.19lbs, part of the total 1469#s for 350 bass that had an average 4.20#s per bag, and shown the light on a pay window cutoff @ 24.97#s for 35th place with a Lucas Contingency payback and $600 goimg to 34th Place. Just as big bass rule to win, a kicker @ CL really shines for sure. with two over 11#s showing up at weigh in, it,s becoming more common to see 11# LM here and I have had the luck of having caught a certifed 11#4oz CL (said to have been Northern strain) LM bass, ironically on March 11th, but in 1997, 20 years ago!! Gary D. perhaps with all the big bass that unbuttoned in this event, perhaps you can have some stories put to print of those that got weighed in over 10#s, hell, I,ve shown you photos of my 11# CL bass, time for some stories of those who caught their largest tournament bass ever, or a 10# bass story from this record breaking event, and personal congrats to you and the WWBT Team!

I think the lake record for a one day 7 fish tournament record is 49.86 " that was the old 100% bass circuit !..

Jim,
The 11lbs'ers were weighed in during the first two flights. So a number of 6-9 lbs'ers were not even weighed as a big-fish. Gary Dobyns was letting folks know that unless it's around a 10, then don't weigh for big fish.
So if your looking at the big fish stats, they are underreported.. great spring fishing on the lake with little/no pressure the last few weeks.
