Delta Herbicide Spraying Program - Feedback

Post by micropterus »

Below is Cal State DBW response to my email. Without proof (i.e. Photos) its just another fish story

Hello,

Thank you for expressing your concerns with the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW).

The DBW has continuously monitored the herbicide levels in Sandmound Slough and the Bethel Island area on a weekly basis. Our lab results indicate that the herbicide levels remain at the targeted low levels that should not impact fish. Also, our crews have not noted any fish kills.

Can you provide more information regarding the reports of dead fish (i.e. specific location in Sandmound Slough, date, time, photos, description of fish, etc.)? Any additional information will be very helpful.

Sincerely,

Angela Llaban

News Flash!!

Many reports of dead fish floating after herbicide treatments are applied to scheduled areas. Sandmound Slough, for example. This isn't supposed to be happening according to the public notice from Department of Parks and Rec. Also, these areas are supposed to be monitored weekly. Apparently that is not happening.

Why??
