Replica Bass Mounts

Post by rick3434 »

I caught a really nice bass recently, measured it, weighed it, took many pictures of it and would like to get a replica mount. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good taxidermist??

I'm having my PB done by Daniel Blackstone right now. From what I've seen, he does the most realistic largemouth bass replicas that I've ever seen by a longshot, check out his website:

Not cheap but I believe he is one of the best out there, if that's what you're looking for.

+1 on Glen. Plus, he has a fast delivery time. I would not take a chance on having it sent. Drive up to Redding, fish Shasta and pick up your mount

Is Glen the man up north that is in a wheelchair? If it's the man I'm thinking of my brother has used his services and I know he also does skin mounts. The protocol is this. Freeze your fish and mail it to him. After he gets it it's close to thawed and he does the work. He never re-freezes fish like many guys do. He's also about half the price of most. The only catch is you must pick it up in person in Redding because he doesn't want it broken via shipping. You literally get your fish back in a couple weeks. Not sure if he does replicas?

Lyon's and O'Haver in San Diego

They did the Dottie mold and mounts for me in addition to a couple of PB stripers. They've been around for decades and do excellent work.
