Headed to clear lake for 5 days next week with a group of buddies. Just wondering what the bite is like. Last year we caught really good fish on football jigs down south. Any tips or techniques that are working would be really appreciated. We only fish clear Lake once a year. So anything to get us started would be awesome.
Thanks.

Shaky head/ Zoom Watermelon Candy trick worm. It will get you 2-4 pound fish all day. GL

Re: Clear lake vacation
I just got back from a week stay there. Fished mostly the north end. The edges of tules and grass lines were the most productive. Got some bigger ones with senkos off the ends of shady docks. We also had decent success with poppers up against seawalls. And of course, there's still a few fish up on beds if you have decent clarity.
The last two days (which were the hottest), we got around a dozen frog fish in the early morning/late afternoon hours. All bites were in really shallow shade pockets in less than a foot of water. Little patches of primrose seemed to carry the most luck.
Considering the previous tournament/holiday pressure is gone, you should have a fun time ahead!
