Four frog manufacturers jump back into 2018 UFC4 (Ultimate Frog Challenge) competition
BETHEL ISLAND, Ca. - Frog companies from as far away as the “land of the rising sun” have announced that they will be part of the 2018 Ultimate Frog Challenge (UFC4) - presented by Gone Fishin Marine, an exciting and unique event that allows participating teams to use ANY BRAND of top water frog they choose, on what is arguably the best “frog fishing” water in the country – at the best time of the year.
Within the event, being held July 28-29th, on the California Delta at Russo’s Marina, is a separate competition dubbed the “Royal Rumble” that gives each frog manufacturer an opportunity to enter only one team to represent their frog bait and win the annual “Top Frog” trophy award – an award that River2Sea has claimed for the past 3 years.
But that was then, and this is now, and companies like Japan's Teckel Frogs, Live Target and Savage Gear, along with other frog manufacturers (TBA), are ramping up, and are on a mission to dethrone the reigning “California grown” frog manufacturer, and take the top frog award back to their respective home offices.

This year’s competition will also feature a youth division, where the top 3 youth – for NO ENTRY FEE, will have the opportunity to win cash for their biggest fish!
Stay tuned…as more information about this exciting and unique event will be forthcoming!
And may the BEST FROG win!

Or instead of fishing the Knock Off Frog tournament..... You could fish the Original Frog tourney. The Snag Proof Open is Aug 4th & 5th.

There are several frog tournaments for anglers to fish, such as UFC and Spro as well as the Original Frog Tournament from Snag Proof.
However as the name suggests, only Snag Proof frogs can be in the Snag Proof Open and other companies that make frogs cannot be included in the Snag Proof Open, so the UFC is a different option for different companies and the staffers/ sponsored anglers of those companies to participate in a frog tournament.
Just like there was the Berkley Big Bass AND the Yamamoto Big Bass and then came the River2Sea Open... Just a different option for different brands/staffers and other companies offering a specialty event for their customers.
Similarly there was the FLW Pro/Am's and now there are WWBT Pro/Am's - it's just another option.
Everyone has a choice to fish what they want and all companies have an option to have events ... there is consumer choice and supply and demand wins out.
If there wasn't a demand for certain events (anglers fishing them), they would cease to exist, however all of the events/organizations mentioned have been popular and continue to offer choice to fishermen.
Fish one or fish 'em all.

Yeah but you don’t schedule a “frog” event the weekend before at the same venue as a established tournament that has been on the same weekend for 15+ years.

Mike your post was edited. Regardless if you are going to fish one, the other, none or both, please leave the namecalling somewhere else.

Love when The delta boys get all riled up and they still never had a marshall in back of their boat bahaaaaaa

Not getting "riled up" at all... Just trying to educate you guys about the business practices of this Org.. Not sure what your "Marshall" comment is all about, but I have been on the tournament scene since 92'. Not just the Delta.....

I understand where this is coming from and most people think the same thing.Mike wrote:Not getting "riled up" at all... Just trying to educate you guys about the business practices of this Org.. Regardless of any other event, the Snag proof open has and will always be the original frog tourney. Ive fished the first one and since have had it on the bucket list of personal goals to W one. I think everyone feels the nostalgia of the Snag Proof Open, Regardless of its old Org FPT running it or BBT.

These frog tournaments look fun. I see the Snag Proof has 100% payback. What is the UFC payback? I like all the details before I commit to an event. Thanks in advance and see you on the water. Scott

@scott
The payback is listed in the event rules. They are posted in the other thread that you asked about the event info in. You will find it in #5. You can check it out at the other thread's link here: http://www.westernbass.com/forum/will-i ... 16056.html
There is also a link to the rules in PDF from on their website in that thread.

Hi Scott,
All of the details about the UFC4 event are on the Angler's Press website (anglerspress.com).
The UFC event has a PURE 80% payback. So, if for example we take in $10,000 in entries, we pay back $8,000 to the field. To help eliminate confusion and guess work, we have only ONE option pot (BIG FISH), and that is paid out at 100%.
We hold back 20% to ensure that our event staff personell are adequately compensated for the 2 and a half days they spend helping to ensure that the event runs smooth and efficiently for all participants.
If you have any other question, please do not hesitate to call or email us at the AP offices, ANYTIME as we will be happy to answer ANY question you may have regarding the event.
This year's event is going to be a ton of fun, so we hope you can join us!
