Beaufort County Emergency Management Director Chris Newkirk says two people were involved in the accident around 9:30 a.m. One person died; the other was transported to Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
Deputies and EMS Personnel were dispatched to find a 57 year old male victim had been pulled from the water, but was unresponsive.
Deputies learned that 2 men from Scranton NC, in Hyde County had been fishing on the pond in a small boat when the boat overturned.
