We had another good turnout on a spooctacular Fall Sunday on Lake Berryessa for the second tournament of the 2018-2019 Season! Thanks to the 40 Teams that fished the 2nd event of the Pasote Tequila & Berryessa Bass Tournaments Circuit that was on November 4, 2018 and hosted out of Markley Cove. There was a little cloud cover at blast off and beautiful 80 degree weigh-in! The lake is still fishing pretty tough for a few teams, but most of the field found the spoon bite to get limits. Lots of teams struggled for a large fish all day, but a few teams got a big one! Evidence again of a tough bite was most of the weights being low, but someone always gets them. In the Youth Division, First Place with 14.25lbs went to Gavin Cohen and Lev Meyers. In Second Place, Joe Mariani and Luc Lipanovich weighed in a sack of 12.52lbs. Third Place went to Matt Dettling with 12.37lbs. The bite has been pretty tough with the water level still dropping and the water cooling slowly! It’s all about finding that ball of bait with big bass chewing or looking for 5 bites shallow! Most teams reported catching their fish in 20 – 60 feet. I had to fizz only a few fish for all that were caught deep. That means you all did great taking care of your fish! They all swam away after I got a needle in them. First & Second Place bags did not have to be fizzed again! Water temps are into the 60’s range with the water clarity still fairly clear to murky, especially after the winds on Saturday. Teams reported catching their fish on Spoons, Drop Shot, Keitech. Crankbaits, Topwater, and Glide Baits. Most teams were fishing all over main body of the lake. First Place went to Bob Dettling and Jason Kincannon with a very nice sack that blew everyone away! Their sack weighed 23.91lbs and was anchored with a 8.72lb kicker for 1st Place Big Fish! Second Place went to Jody Jordan and Dan Sweat who brought in a sack that weighed 17.47lbs and a 5.64lb kicker for 2nd Place Big Fish. Third Place went to John Pearl with a sack that weighed 14.45lbs. With a Fourth Place finish, Mark Mariani and Joe Bulluck weighed in 14.26lbs. In Fifth Place, with a sack of 14.25lbs was weighed in by Gavin Cohen and Lev Meyers. Finishing in Sixth Place was Russ Velasco and Dave Tonge with 14.24lbs. Seventh Place went to Kelly Oward with 13.68lbs. In Eighth Place, with a sack that weighed 13.60lbs was Frank Ono and Billy Hines. Ninth Place went to Dave Raper with13.52lbs. Ten Place went to Brad Amodeo and Mark Crutcher with 13.25lbs. This is the Twelfth tournament in a row that at least one of our youth teams has been in the money! Youth Team took home Fourth Place!
