2005 Mercury Optimax 225hp Cowling

Can anybody tell me what other year will fit this2005 motor,I heard that even a 200hp optimax is the same,,and 2004 till 2006 is the same cowling, from a 200hp to 225hp,, is this true

not an expert on the 3 liter Mercury outboards but I would think it would interchange with anything in the 3 liter family

It sounds correct, all I know too is 2003-2006 Mercury 3.0L (200-250 HP) shares the same cowling. I was helping a buddy installing the new rack, smittybilt smart cover, and railings for kayak mount on his truck. There was also his brother installing the cowling from a 2006 to his 2004 3L.
