Buechner Bests the Field on Lake Murray (SCKA)
Buechner Bests the Field on Lake Murray (SCKA)
Ultimately, it was Steve Buechner who was able to put the winning pattern together fishing wacky rigged Senkos on the outer edge of the deeper tulles. He reported that he positioned his boat shallow to cruise along the shore and look for beds. He was blind casting in the deeper water to catch the staging fish. He reported catching a few fish on beds on creature baits but the better bite was on the Senko. In addition to having the 85.25-inch winning stringer, he also caught the big fish of the tournament that measured 19.75 inches. For his efforts, he took home $490 and another win on the SCKA tournament trail.
