The 2nd stop of the 2019 MKA Motherlode Series tour will be this Sunday (4/28/19) on Lake Don Pedro. The weather conditions should be perfect with a projected high of 85 degrees with clear skies. The fishing has been reported to be a little tougher than anticipated due to the release of water to make room for the upcoming snowmelt. The fish are in the spawn to post-spawn phase and the topwater bite should be turning on. There is a full field of 60 anglers ready to do battle to see who will be crowned champion. The 2018 champion Kongo Thao measured 56" for a 3 fish limit. Anglers are projecting the winning limit will once again be in the mid-50-inch range. Check-ins will begin at 4:30 AM at Fleming Meadows. Fishing will start at approximately 6:15 AM with a 2:00 PM weigh-in followed by awards. The next stop on the 2019 MKA Motherlode Series tour will be on Lake Tulloch on Saturday, 5/11/19. At the Lake Tulloch event, the AOY will be crowned and the top 15 advancing to the 2019 MKA Classic on Kelsey Bass Ranch on 6/22/19 will be identified.
