Hey all,
I have 4 Chronarch Ci4+ leftys and 1 Chronarch MGL lefty that I am a little irritated at. The thumb bar has broken on 3 of them. While it is a $10 part, it's cheap plastic and designed poorly. I'm really happy with the couple Daiwa Type R's I have, but I like the refinement of the Chronarchs.
I would consider trading them straight up for Tatula SV's for the Ci4's and a Zillion SV for the MGL. All of them have minor cosmetic wear, but are mechanically perfect. I have cleaned and maintained all of them twice a year.
Or, should I just keep them, replace the thumb bars, and have a few spares just in case??? They really are nice reels that have a flaw that makes me nervous too fish them hard.
Thanks for looking and providing input.

It really depends. I have an MGL and it fishes great. Never had anything break on it in the 2 years I've had it. What gear is your MGL and what price are you looking to sell for? A JDM MGL can be had for about $225 so if you're looking to sell a used broken one, you're gonna have to let it go at a reasonable price. If that can't be swallowed, then might as well replace the $10 piece.
