New HDs live broken screen

Post by jeremy z »

Partner just put a jig into the screen and shattered it. Can it be repaired?
Let me know.
Thanks

This is likely not a covered failure under the warranty description but I would still call Lowrance Customer Care as they have helped in less likely situations, no guarantee's though. Call Lowrance Customer Care at 1-800-628-4487 and see what if anything they can do for you.

I agree with Ken. You might also consider checking with your insurance carrier to see if you have coverage for a claim. With my insurance company (USAA) this would be a covered claim on my boat insurance (I added coverage for contents) but would also be covered on my homeowner's insurance.

Costly mistake.
Might have been easier to buy a new one.
Customer service is the worst I have ever delt with.

I was thinking about upgrading my Gen 3 units to Live units. Your comment on customer service has given me pause. Can you share a few details of what went down?

Maybe this will shed a little light. I buy a new $70K pickup. On my way to work the next day I find myself in the middle of a driveby shooting and my new truck is full of holes. I go to the dealer and they say sorry, not covered. Kinda sorta huh? There is insurance which would cover it.

Edd
Not even close.
Have you tried calling the 800#?
It took weeks to get a hold of someone in the US that had any idea as to what’s going on. Regardless if I was shoot up or had an accident in my opinion you should be able to talk to someone who is coherent.
Don’t kid your self with how great there service is.

Lowrance has one of the best top tier support teams too be had, but you must start at the bottom tier.

About two years ago Lowrance told me, they DO NOT make repairs. I was under a limited warranty and they said, send us $500 and we'll replace the unit with a rebuilt unit. I said, who rebuilds the unit? I never received an answer. Hopefully their customer service has gotten better. Good luck

It’s to bad it takes weeks to get to the top. You pay 70k for a truck or 3k for a graph you don’t expect to speak to people in Asia for weeks and get no where. Once I got someone in Tulsa I agree. It shouldn’t take that.

I really don’t care where the support staff lives, as long as they can provide answers. The broader support team that Navico has expanded to will be something great after all the training and some hands-on experience. I am willing to at least to allow it to develop.
