How is the Delta?

Thinking of heading to the Delta tomorrow. Going to launch out of Ladd’s. How has the bite been? Frog bite? I haven’t been there in years.

I fish it 4 days a week and things change over night. You might show up and have an epic day or catch 2. Frogs, Wake baits and drop shot have been my go to baits and when the wind picks up I toss the spinnerbait and chatter.

150+ boats tomorrow and Sunday out of Ladds for the FPT. I'd try another ramp!

There is also a sail boat race from Richmond to ladds tomorrow. They are staging the trailers in the parking lot today/tonight for the sail boats and as of 5 o clock there was 30 already. Add all the other boaters,ski fishing and others with this hot weather, it's going to be a mess....

Thank you all, I had forgot about the FPT. Went to McClure instead for a few hours and caught lots of fish on topwater and flukes. Biggest was 2.5lb.

I’ve been fishing the Delta for thirty years and I have never ever struggled the way I have so far this year

Delta is not what it used to be for sure. You want some good fishing head to Clearlake now. Fish in all stages and can be caught every which way. Delta has been beat down by Politicians, Seals, and Minnow fisherman. Hopefully someday it will make a comeback. I’m not holding my breath though.......
