Sure looks just like a Viper_Cobra or Hawk boats, both built by the guy who left Champion Boats.

Any Info on who designed it.

Thanks,

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself......
My name Jamie Cyphers I live in Cedar City Utah.
I am the Western Sales Manager for Legend Boats LTD.
The boat your looking at is our new LE-199 Alpha Series.
This is an incredible boat that we just released after three year of development. Its a very exciting boat in that it is a whole new design with even more fisherman friendly feaures. It handles like a champ, has incredible top end speed and lift, and as is priced thousands below other top manufactures. Your Northern Cal dealer is Inland Marine in Antioch. Frank Lozano is the owner and is about as genuine a person as you will ever meet. Frank is actively looking for some pro staff caliber anglers in the Nor Cal area to help get the word out and any one interested should give him a call @ 925 757 1714 for directions to their brand new location. Any one fishing Anglers Choice will be competing for these new birds this Oct at the TOC. If anyone has any questions you can post them on here and I will check back from time to time as well or EM me at: jamie@legendmarine.com

Thanks for the positive response!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Justin... I was just getting on here to post about this LE-21 that I just took for a quick lap around Clear Lake. The boat rides awesome. There was some chop on the water and it flew through it as good or better than any boat I've ever ridden in! Its a LE-21 with a 225 Pro XS and it's outstanding! There are some really awesome features on this boat as well...

If you are in the market for a boat you will definitely want to check out a Legend before you make any decisions! Frank at Inland Marine (www.Inland-marine.com) is a great guy and will gladly set a time for you to test drive a new Legend. I personally have one on the way (the new 199 Justin Likes so much) and will also gladly take you out for a day on the water in the boat.

Also for Boat Services and Repairs--- See Frank at Inland Marine! He is a cerified Mercury, Evinrude, Penta Volvo and OMC shop....

They have a brand new location in Antioch right off of Auto Center Drive.

Check out their website http://www.inland-marine.com

That boat does look sweet!!! The design is nice and clean. Dont care for 20's on a boat trailer though, thats a bit ghetto for a fishin boat.

The LE21 and 195 are similar to the Hawks and Vipers of the past. However, the new 199 is a completely redesigned boat with a 4 inch wider deck and more.

Some of the feautes are:

- 6 Transom Elbow mounts (Compare this to 4 for most other high end boat manufacturers and 2 for some of the less expensive boats)
- More Floatation than any other boat on the market. (I was told to test drive my new boat without the plug and the water won't even make it to the carpet)
- Custom paint and gel coats.
- Custom trailers.

plus so much more.

A couple of of my favorite features are the Co-Angler Rod Storage system and the Clock on the front fishing station. The Co Angler Rod Storage system is an actual slot the goes into the back deck with a storage lid to keep the rods completely out of harms way when fishing through brush. How many times have you been in a tournament and wanted to know what time it was. Had to go digging for your cell phone or check the GPS data on your dashboard? Well a clock right below your nose at all times sure will be handy. Granted these are small features but, they will be handy and it shows the guys from Legend aren't only great boat designers but, their obviously fisherman too!

The 199 boat is rated for up to a 225 HP motor.

To see a legend up close or take a test drive in one Call Inland Marine in Antioch at 925-757-1714 or go to Inland-Marine.com

W.C. it would be so easy for me to get on here and say you are so far off.... And in a sense you are! At the same time you are correct in that there are some similarities..... John Storie developed the Cobra in 1995 after selling Champion The Cobras that were produced over the next decade never had any additional R and D and eventually beacame a 10 year outdated design. As you know I am sure John did tooling for a number of other manufactures like Pro Craft, Fisher, Hawk ( his own Company ) and a slew of off shore companies. Considered the finest tooler in the Industry the name Legend was born out of respect for this man, and he tooled this hull as well...... We do now employ most of the displaced work force in the twin lakes area of ARK..... Most of who were left when Genmar moved Champion to TN, and when Cobra went under.... We also employ former Bass Cat and Ranger people so you are going to see some influence from all these companies....... Most people that see the boats in real life comment more Champion than anything else....... But 17 degrees dead rise, and 45 degree twist on the keel are much the same...... Giving the front appearence a very similar look...... We tried to keep all the best attributes that made those boats so popular, and refine all of the ambiguities to make for a very fast, dry, and soft ride with the handling unsurpassed...... we than tried to make the boat as fisherman friendly as possible, enlisting help from guy's like Gary Yamamoto to design a better deck lay out and fishing station. So while I may be biased...... and I did own 2 cobras ( liked them, but not loved) I would say this when you get the chance and you will, (were growing faster according to Mercury than any company has with the exception of Triton in over 2 decades) have a real close look at all the features, new hull design, finish work, and price.... And let us know if you are not totally blown away with our new Alpha Boats!!!!!!!

I think Legends are going to become "the" boat to have.

I've had casual conversations with Dean Smith who's a driving force behind these fishing machines, and of course, I know Jamie. These guys know what they are doing. They don't just want to produce your boat, they want to produce the best boat for your bass fishing. It's happening. I see it. In terms of a bass fishing machine, it's on its way to surpass other boat brands.

I own a Ranger and love it, but will be seriously consider riding with a Legend over all others when the time is right.

Well, I have heard lots of guys compare the Legend to the Cobra. It seems to be a common topic. Comes up all the time. I've been in a bunch of Cobras. Cobras are fast, bouncy, sloppy and very wet rides. You don't even need big water to get wet in a Cobra.

I've heard guys say their Cobras aren't wet. "You won't get wet in my Cobra," just like "Oh, you'll like lima beans the way I cook them." No, lima beans taste the same no matter how you cook them, and Cobras are splashy bouncy beasts no matter who or how you drive them. :)

The Legend is a solid dry ride, even in big water. In terms of hull and transom - and big water ride - the Legend rides much more like a Champion, not like a Cobra.

There are a ton of cool features, and I'm not trying to sell you one, but I'm pretty certain I will buy one when the time is right - if Jamie makes me a good deal! :)

Wow !!! that boat Looks just like mine!!! :D And its even the same color sceem too.... I know its got some new features to it . I was'nt batching this boat; :o afthere all i own a Cobra Viper and that would be like putting down mine. I love my boat espeially since its paid off. but its also very fast and great to fish out of.
I know that the legend will live on no matter what. "no pun intended" lol . But if i were to buy a new boat, I would have to say and i "crinage" when i say this but .... it would be a Ranger. I know that the New Ranger is a slow tug boat. but its also a solid built boat with plenty of storage and leg room in it , not to mention that it has the best resale value of any boat out on the Market today. Plus The Ranger Cup money that i could have won more than a few time if i would have owned one is very appealing to me . again i love my Viper and also like the new look and up grades in the Legend . I know it will do good around here . best of luck to u all :D
