I wasn't part of this recent tournament on Lake Coeur d'Alene, but I wish I had been there. It turns out I wouldn't have had a very good chance to win, but I would have liked to see these two monster bags!
The team of JJ Schillinger and Trevor Schalk brought in 31.16lbs with a 9.70lb kicker on the first day. That was pretty dang impressive, but CDA kicks out bags in the high 20's all the time, so it wasn't thought of as being impossible to do.
What I thought was the bigger deal was them backing it up with 29.77lbs. The second-place team had a respectable 47.97lbs but finished 13 pounds back.
This was the latest example of why this lake is consistently ranked high on the "top lakes list" from magazines and websites and as I travel around the country, it is the one lake I am asked about most when people find out I live in the Northwest.
Here are a few pics and the full standings from the event.

That’s awesome! I’ve caught some big fish flippin docks in Harrison... FLW needs to show CDA some love or Won Bass having a NW Open. Lake Washington has giant smallies, maybe there too!

Wife and I are looking for a place to move once we can finally leave this third world state. This area is on the list for sure.
