6 "must have rods" for Lake Havasu

Post by JL »

Going to Havasu next week to get ready to fish the WON Bass Lake Havasu Open as a Co Angler. I've never been to the lake. What would be the "must have rods" for this tournament? Thanks for any advice or insight!

Lake Havasu has 2 types of bass; Smallmouth and Largemouth both will be in pre spawn seasonal period. The LMB tend to locate in and around cover that is very limited to reeds and man made habitate. The SMB in Havasu are big and strong and tend to locate around the man made habitate and outside the cover areas along deep rocky structure elements.
Havasu has quagga mussels and clear water so you need to use appropriate line.
You need rods and reels to fish for both species of bass and prepared to fish where your boater takes you.
Bring everything and select what you need to fish with the boater you draw.
