CAPE CORAL, Fla. — A Cape Coral man who pled guilty to overharvesting more than 50,000 pounds of Gulf Reef Fish in Southwest Florida has been sentenced.

The United States Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez Middle District of Florida announced Mark Edward Zywotko, 47, was sentenced to 60 days in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Zywotko pled guilty in August for committing mail fraud.

As part of his sentence, the court also ordered Zywotko to forfeit $286,260.74, representing the number of proceeds he obtained as a result of the offenses.

How come he gets jail time, while the bankers who helped cause the Great Recession, and stole millions, didn't?

I think they mean jail but that is a ton of fish. Regulations are in place for a reason. I think the consequences are appropriate. The guy appears to be a life criminal, he doesn't learn.
