Info on Berryessa Opening/Closing for COVID

At 9 am Tuesday morning the Napa Board of Supervisors may discuss the Lake opening/closing as part of the COVID 19 presentation. A group of Lake Berryessa advocates and boat owners are trying to get as many people to attend virtually and send emails. Any good ideas on how we can open it up? Even a slow opening for boats already on the lake first? Why is Lake Hennessy open. Why are Napa County Open Space District parks and hiking trails open? Why is Lake Berryessa closed - why is it being treated differently?

Some of the ideas they will present are:

Soft opening with those with boats already on the lake. No outside launching at first.

Limited amount of launches, maybe by appointment or time slots. Possibly limit the number of people in a boat to 4 or 6 who are family members, neighbors, or close friends.

Social distancing is easy to accomplish on the dock as it is over 6 feet wide and boats are at least 6 feet apart.

Houseboats have their own bathrooms, kitchen, so there will be no usage of the bathroom facilities and are used by families that co-habitate.

Sunlight helps you process vitamin D to help stay healthy.

Social distancing is greatly enhanced when boats are out on the lake as they are spaced far apart, and are self maintained.

When travel to the lake for these reasons, it is with drivers who are experienced in the area roads and respectful to the local residents. It is not a “joy ride”. It is a direct route from home to the resort.

Kayaking and paddleboarding is a great exercise and is a solo sport.

I feel that if they open one lake then all should be opened at same time to spread people out a little

Complete bull
Open the lake. If the lake is open to only the chosen we might as well be rid of all the values this country was founded on beginning with freedom. They just make laws now? Social distance or go to jail? Wear a mask or get a ticket?
Who enabled these people to just make up law as they please? Are we so blind and dumb to tolerate this for months ? Years? For good?
The new normal?
I am completely shocked at the stupidity
When is enough enough? I have had about enough of this communist approach to reopen.

From what I hear it was shot down. Napa politicians pointing fingers at BOR saying its up to them and the BOR pointing fingers at Napa saying it’s up to them. It is just stupid you can have 300 people hiking that trail below the dam. But I can’t take my so fishing in a boat separate from everyone
