Will it Fit?

Post by Fly'in V »

OK BassHeads,

In the hunt for a new Bass boat.
The Question: Will it Fit?

My garage is 21feet deep X 20 feet wide & Assuming a modern swing-away tongue trailer.

Will a Ranger 520L/250HP Merc?
Or a Nitro Z20/250HP Merc?
Or a Phoenix 920/250hp Merc?

Or stick with a 19'/225HP'?

I former boat was a Ranger 482VS/non-folding tongue, that fit.

How much extra room did you have with the 482? That should give you a ball park idea. Also, you might want to check the height of your garage door vs the height of the outboard. Some newer trailers are taller and I've heard of guys not being able to clear the garage door with outboard, even playing with the trim. Good luck

Nothing worse than bringing a new boat home and smashing the cowl on the top of the garage. Did that one 15 years ago lol. Tough lesson.

I had a 06 519 . With swing tongue and motor down it needed 22 ft to back straight in. it would fit in a 20x20 at an angle. Not all new boats come with a swing tongue

Back in 2000 when I ordered a Triton TR19 fitting it in my garage was a big piece of the puzzle. It was between a 19’ Nitro and the Triton. If you look at the way boats are contoured at the transom some bow out like the Nitro and Ranger, while others curve inward making the total package shorter. With the swing away tongue and no jack plate the Triton fit perfectly in my garage.

I believe all of the rigs you mention are over 23'. Maybe at an angle?

my 2015 520c fits but would not if I had 4 stroke. Would need approx 5 more inches.

At 21' deep you are going to have to push the trailer over so it is diagonal with either the 19' boat or a Z520L

I don't think there's an easy way to figure it out, without have a friend with the same boat bring it to your house and try it.

Trailer Tongue Folded / Motor Down:
Ranger Z520L = 23'-9
Ranger Z519L = 23'-1

Your garage is 29 ft from corner to corner. You be the judge.

You have a 20x 20 garage? I'm looking at getting nitro z20 2021... want to know if it will fit in mine. Where you located?

Good info here, the other thing to consider is if it has a jack plate. Jack plates are great for added performance but can add an additional 6-8" of setback. I think with a 21' garage your going to have to angle it in.

I angle at almost 45 degrees. Better learn how to swing that trailer in. I sprayed a line of paint on the garage floor so I know where to come in at ans another line at 45 degrees at where the tire sits. It ain't easy but no sticky fingers are in my garage

Must be nice to have a big garage, mines only 18’6” deep. with a post in the middle. Would love a bigger boat, no idea where to store it
