Our city, county, and state leadership MUST be voted out or recalled immediately! Our access to lakes and bays has been so poorly managed it is laughable. These "C and D" students, who have become politicians, do not know how to handle anything in the real world. They ruin everything they touch.

Our so-called "leaders" are drunk on power and control.

- They Closed all parks, lakes, beaches and launch ramps.
- OH Wait...they opened the beaches, but closed the parking lots so people have to park on streets in neighborhoods and jam up sidewalks.
- Opened parks, but no parking lots? What??
- They Put meter maids at all entrances, instead of controlling flow to the ramps so people can launch boats with their own family members.
- There is ZERO reason to dis-allow access to our lakes, bays, and launch ramps.... ZERO!

I share your frustration with this ridiculous government overreach. Let’s keep the pressure on to re open now. Our civil liberties are definitely being trampled on in the name of public safety. Except Bass lake
Millerton lake Pineflat Eastman lake and Hensley Lake still closed and will stay close till problem June
City of Fresno and fresno county put another 30 day stay at home order on may the 1st runs right up to June 1st
I hope they don't open Eastman or Hensley lakes before then they both got very good spawn's and Eastman got a good trout plant just after the lake was closed
The reports I got the last 3 weeks bass made beds around both docks in both side of the lake at Eastman. Before they open back those fish need to be off those beds. So I'm hoping they stay closed till june. There no hurry to get back up there to fish. At either lake
Army Corp. Has no idea when Eastman Hensley or Pineflat will open
It won't be before the holiday for sure.

Delta open Don Pedro open Shasta open lake Isabella open Bass lake open. All of the westside from Mendota Firebaugh and Dos polos Al the canals are open.
If your going too complain then run for office and change it but you won't it too easy to just rant and rave. All over just because you can't fish on your favorite lake. Ca the sunshine state

This is about more than just our lakes and waterways. Shutting down Orange County's beaches was punitive (due to Newsome viewing photos from prior to the shutdown). We are just focusing on fishing since this is a fishing forum, but this is government overreach. If there was a curve to flatten, we flattened it. So the goalposts were moved to someone might get sick and die. That's not achievable.

The governor has had the CHP suspend our right to peaceably assemble and protest at the capitol. He's let rapists and child molestors out, but arrested 33 protestors for not social distancing. Meanwhile after the arrests, all the CHP are standing together a foot apart from each other without any PPE on. They sure are worried about it.

The chance of catching the virus outside in the sun is very small. IIRC we are 19 times more likely to catch it indoors. Open the lakes so people can spread out.

I'm ok with Army Corp not opening Eastman and Hensley lakes until June I'm hoping they don't til then I talk to the ranger every other day for update so far look good on the spawn on both lakes and looks even better they may not open til maybe June after the holiday. Which is even better. Give fish time to move off the beds and back out to deeper water
Either way after they open maybe in june they will get hammered for the first month or so.

Hey Jiggin4Bass...Bro what these guys are complaining about isn't ALL about being able to fish their favorite lakes. Look at the bigger picture. What is happening is the Governor is running this State above and beyond its lawful reach over our god given constitutional rights. Sure we can all run for office during the next election but what does that do for us right now? Hopefully all of us signed the petition to recall Newsom as I have but it's not like we can just up and get him out at any point in time. You understand this don't you? Unfortunately we are far outnumbered in this State but a lot of us do take as much action as we can by voting. Unfortunately more and more Americans don't mind being controlled and told what we can and can't do. Just because 1 person in office has his own point of view doesn't mean he should be able to over throw our Constitutional rights when he sees fit. That is not how America is supposed to work. Our constitution of the United States of America is being trampled on by the Governor of California plain and simple. The way this works Jiggin is that they take small things away from you piece by piece until they control whatever they're going after. They take a way piece by piece until what was once your right as an American has become against the law. If the Governor knows he can do what he wants with disregard to the Constitution of the United States do you think he'll stop with just closing our lakes for a short time? What will he take away from us next? Our right to bowl? Our right to drink a beer? The line becomes very blurry on where to stop when you can get away with something like this and have no push back...or better yet have support from people with your point of view. We all understand that you want the fish to stay on beds and spawn and you have your own personal agenda for wanting your local lakes closed but you have to look at the bigger picture here and see that your rights as an American Citizen have been taken away from you. Just in this case it was our lakes, this is a fishing website and a fishing forum so in this situation it's about our lakes. What will it be next? And for the rest of you guys reading this forum, if you don't like Jiggin4Bass' replies don't support him by purchasing the lures he makes and sells. He lists his company under his name, you have the right not to support this guy financially. So maybe keeping the lakes closed will eventually hurt Jiggin's finances and he may start to see things differently about the Governor. Or maybe not. Either way, everyone "should" have an issue with what the Governor has done even if it was to protect us. That's not how our Country is supposed to function. No one man should have that much control without a vote.

No one here in this forum topic has once said they want to run for Governor, they just don't want Newsom as Governor. There are plenty of other people who do want that position for me to vote for that are far better suited for that position than me. So I'll do my American part and vote in every election! Hey Fellows,

I know tensions are high and we all want to go fishing and have access to normalcy. Typically we do not allow ANY political posts on the Fishing Forum and have a Political Forum just for that. I have been letting these go as i know we all feel that the government could have / shoulda / handled things differently. But posts like this that degrade and turn into name calling are not going to be allowed on the forums.

There are plenty of "social spaces?" for one to spout rhetoric and politics, if you feel compelled to have your message heard i recommend those places. Not on these forums, we are a fishing community. Let's keep it fishing focused and hope to see each other out on the water.
