I just ordered a new boat and I leave it in the water on our dock for 6+ months a year. Previous boats have been used and I could not justify a boat lift. We have an EZ dock (and love it). I'm considering getting an EZ Boatport to put the boat on to keep the boat out of the water when not in use to preserve it. My concern is the driving on and driving off part. In the limited Videos I've seen it looks like a lot of thrust is required and I'm worried about it. But the cost of this vs. building an ez dock slip and adding a hydrohoist are almost double and this is safe if the water goes all the way down to 0 in the winter which happens (lake pillsbury)
Looking for peace of mind. Has anyone ever owned one of these in the last 5 years or so (they used to be made differently with a winch). Can you tell me if you would recommend it or NOT recommend it? I plan t have this boat for many years so I want to take care of it best I can.
