After recently purchasing a Lowrance Ghost trolling motor I headed out to the lake. After just 6 hours the head of trolling motor became locked in place and began to “Shutter”.I manually rotated the shaft and the motor began to operate correctly only the directional arrow was in the incorrect position. After numerous phone calls to Lowrance they advised me that it would need to be taken in for Warranty repair. They had A list of Certified Warranty repair shops near me.After several phone calls “I was told that they had been trained but were not up and running to do warranty work for Lowrance.”I then spoke with Lowrance’s Ghost trolling motor specialist he stated this was a “known issue”.I want thank Mark at Gone Fishin Marine as he worked out the issues with Lowrance and will be doing my warranty repair.I have continued to try and use the motor while I wait on parts and have had the motor continue to lock up and shutter. While everyone has gave great reviews to this product I hope this will be the only issue I have.I write this not to bash Lowrance but rather to let others know when they make this purchase Lowrance is new to the trolling motor business and still have bugs to work out with both there Product and Warranty repair services.
