The lightest baitcaster?

Post by Bassjunkie17 »

Hello everyone,
In the market for the lightest possible baitcasting reel.
Wondering if anyone can provide some input.
Considering the revo mgxtreme.
Does anyone know if that is the same as the mgxtreme2?

Any other suggestions? Not a baitcaster for light lures, just the lightest weight.
Looking for a lefty with a high speed ratio, prefer 8.1 but anythin over 7.6 will work.
Thanks for any and all input.

About $500.
Aldebaran has the shallow spool correct?
Wouldn't that make it difficult for heavier lures...like 1/2 oz?

Second the Lew's hyper mag or the team lite speed if you want a little deeper spools. The Steez SV TW can be had for under your budget but will have a slightly shallower spool but not so much to consider it a finesse only reel.

Under 5oz in you into either magnesium or composite, 6 oz opens it up to several reels.
The problem I have with the small 100 suze and under reels is thexIPT after casting a 1/2 lure over 40 yards drops 40%. The Shimano MG Core etc are in 6 oz rsng
I will take a look at my original Daiwa TD Feugo weight it's nib magnesium frame. I' am not Fishing anymore and selling my tackle. The Original TD Feugo is 7 oz.
With your budget Daiwa Steez @ 5 oz is a good choice.

To the best of my knowledge all low profile Abu and Lew's reels are made by Dobo in Korea*. JDAM Shimano reels are made in Japan.
