...do you have one of them there Stowmaster nets? And, if so, which model? They look really good on the website, but I'd like to see one in person before plunking down that kind of coin. I'm thinking that the TS84S is zackly what we would need here in So. Cal. What do you think?
Thanks in advance.
Hey Brian D...
Re: Hey Brian D...
Hey Ron, I stocked those nets at BWW. They are great, will open and lock without incident, and extend pretty far. They are expensive though, and the carying cases are seperate from the price for the net. About $150 all in but worth it for the storage capabilities and quality.
Hey Chris...
...which is the best model for what we do (keeping in mind our Hudd slinging)?

Ron I have the
TS67L model. For me a 67-in. net is just right. The smaller size, relatively speaking, allows me to net fish when I'm fishing solo. And, I can leave it out in the full extended position throughout the day without it becoming too much of a trip hazard. One of the best things I've done was to attach a small handle and strap to gain leverage on the net when making that crucial sweep. Again another $20.
I know some of the swim bait guys like a longer handle for extra reach and a large net hoop for the big girls. If you're use to a big net the TS84S model will work fine. Yes, it's more expensive than your typical net, but like anything we buy, consider it an investment.
I'll have mine at the Fed tourney. Here are some photos:

Hey Brian,
How strong is the hinge on the loop. The only thing I'd worry about it it folding at some point in time while netting a fish. Have you ever had this problem?

So far so good
This net is very durable. Largest fish I've landed with it was 12 lbs. No concern at all.
