0ldest standing striped bass record WOW!
#TBT to the IGFA’s oldest standing striped bass record. In August of 1959, Mary R. Aubry set the IGFA Women’s 10-kg (20 lb) Line Class World Record with an incredible 26.08-kilogram (57-pound, 8-ounce) striped bass. She caught the record striper trolling live eels out of Block Island Sound, New York. Equipped with a Heddon custom rod and a Penn Surfmaster reel, she was able to land the catch in 25-minutes and brought it in to Doyen’s Store on Fisher’s Island for a certified weight. Although heavier stripers have been caught on lighter line, this record has stood the test of time. #fishIGFA See Less
